It was certainly this way when it came to the blues legacy. ”4 Just as black mothers introduced blues to their children, black women introduced them into “mainstream” society, white as well as black. He most often said this when he noticed us indulging in some pleasurable event: be it watching our favorite television show or savoring every bite of our favorite food. In blues stories, god embraces all of black life, the sensual as well as the nonsensual, thus all of life is sacred. In this same respect, blues does not recognize an aspect of life immune from evil. All of life is a mixture of good and evil. Again, within blues there is no sharp line of demarcation between what might appear to be divergent or even contesting dimensions of reality.
